Pianos on State Gallery Show

PIANOS ON STATE has attracted many artists over the years to come together to paint donated pianos over a long weekend every fall for the last 14 years. This year, we are inviting artists who have painted at least two pianos in past Pianos on States participate in a first ever Pianos on State Gallery Show.

The show will hang in the Community Arts Workshop Gallery Space from September 28th - October 15th, 2023.  

Pianos on State Gallery Show

We are excited to showcase the works of artists who have been the backbone of our beautiful Pianos for this annual event. 

​

Guidelines:

• Artists may submit up to three pieces of any medium or style no larger than 36" x 36" for flat pieces and within 12" W x 6' T for free standing pieces.  Sculptures must either be free standing or have their own pedestal. 

• All artists applying must have been selected as a piano painter and painted pianos for Pianos on State at least two times in previous years.  

• This project is open to artists living and working in Santa Barbara or Ventura Counties.

• All works must be for sale. 70% of sales go to the artist, 30% go to support Pianos on State and the work of the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative.

To Submit, Please Include:

• Three examples of work including dimensions.  

• A short one to two sentence description of you as an artist and the years you painted for Pianos on State. 

Important Dates

The Call for Entry opens July 1st. The application deadline is September 15, 2023, at 5pm. The gallery show will be up from September 28th - October 15th with the opening reception on September 29th from 5:30 - 8pm.​
