The 3rd Annual Masq(p)arade! performance progressive will take place on Friday, October 20, 2023, with shows every fifteen minutes from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. This whimsical parade will showcase a series of dynamic piano-based performances, from Figueroa Street to the Arlington Theatre, in celebration of Pianos on State. Past Masq(p)arade! performers include Opera Santa Barbara, The Piano Boys, Out of the Box Theatre Company, and Teen Star winner and American Idol contestant Jackson Gillies.

Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative (SBAC) Outreach Committee members Darian Bleecher and Adrienne De Guevara conceived Masq(p)arade! progressive performance parade in collaboration with SBAC, the lead organizer of Pianos on State. Masq(p)arade! enlists performers and pianists to create fifteen-minute works to be performed in succession on the final Friday of Pianos on State. This "one night only" performance progressive engages audience members through innovative presentations that consist of performance art involving masks and a fancifully-painted piano (provided). Audience members are encouraged to don masks as well!
